 The Living Room welcomes Thaddaeus Washington, an artist whose music lives at the intersection of sound, stillness, and human connection for an intimate residency designed to be experienced intimately.

Washington is the founder of Mind Music, a musical philosophy and practice that blends instrumental composition, improvisation, and mindfulness to create spaces for reflection, release, and emotional clarity. His work is not background music, it’s an invitation. An invitation to slow down. To listen deeply. To be present.

Raised learning music by ear, Washington brings a rare sincerity to the stage. His compositions flow between jazz, blues, soul, ambient textures, with spiritual undertones, all unfolding organically in real time. Each performance is unique guided by the room, the audience, and the moment itself.

His 2024 album Common Ground, created in collaboration with Metroparks Toledo, drew regional acclaim for its innovative use of natural soundscapes recorded in local parks, blurring the line between music and environment. That same sensitivity now finds its home inside The Living Room Speakeasy, where proximity transforms performance into conversation.

Beyond intimate venues, Washington has been trusted with some of the biggest stages in America. Most notably performing The Star-Spangled Banner at NBA games, including the Phoenix Suns, Los Angeles Lakers Milwaukee Bucks. Whether standing in front of thousands or a room of twenty, his command is the same: grounded, reverent, and deeply human.
